one evening for dinner Bella decided that her and Gwen were going to have a 'picnic' in the house, the foyer actually and she carried this table down from upstairs all by herself!

Strawberry picking

I had always wanted to go to Red Wagon and pick our own strawberries. So last weekend we decided to go. Here is the one and only pic I took from it. Everyone headed out into the field~they sure do look determined don't they? Well, that did not last long. The girls lasted about 15 minutes. Paul entertained the kids somehow while I ended up picking for 1 1/2 hours and got almost 2 buckets full. It was the end of their season and they were really small and not so good. Next year I will try to go as soon as the season starts. I ended up making strawberry jam out of most of them cuz no one was eating them and I was not about to throw out all that hard work I put into picking them!

Father's Day festivites

We started Father's Day weekend out by having a cookout at Nonny & Opa's cuz cousin Matt was here from Florida. That was fun! We miss the Gray family so much!
Then Saturday we hosted a cookout at our house for Opa. Forgot to take pics.....
Sunday we headed to the Father's Day Car Show at the German Club like we do every year to see Papa. As soon as we got there, Gwen was yawning, shivering and fussing and we ended up realizing she had a fever (that Bella had had earlier in the week). So Paul brought her home and she slept all afternoon, poor baby. So Bella and I stayed with Papa and all his car buddies and hang out for the day. It was a beautiful day to be outside! Forgot to take pics tho......was concerned about Gwen and just forgot!

Swimming fun

Finally made it a point to go over to Nonny's to swim. Bella has gotten to swim many times already but not Gwen. She loves the water alot more than Bella did at her age. Bella has graduated this summer to wearing a life vest and 'swims' around the pool on her own. I know she could not swim without it but I am happy with the progress she has made. She would not even get in the pool until last summer when she was 4 and even then she HAD to hold on to the edge or be held by someone. Good Job Bella! I would love to take them to swim lessons. I know someone who takes her girls to private lessons and they are 3 and 2 months younger than Gwen and already swimming on their own! Aidan and Aaron and starting them this week so I will see how it goes for them....
